This form of cabling is designed to operate temporary traffic lights when road works are present. They are specially manufactured to withstand extremely cold temperatures of up to negative 40 degrees celcius.

Number of cores is variable, but commonly 3 or 5 are used

1. Cores consist of either 30 strands of 0.25mm (1.5 sq. mm) or 50 strands of 0.25mm (2.5 sq. mm)
2. Cores are insulated with PVC
3. Overall sheathed in special artic PVC (yellow or blue)
4. Temperature Range of -40 degrees celcius to +70 degrees celcius
